Mohammed Taman
Taman Mohammed is an Egyptian artist who studied PhD Fine Art from Helwan University and an M.A in Digital Arts from the University of Cairo.
Tamanism is a technical name chosen by Mohammed Taman for his colourimetric technique which relies on control of the movement of a liquid colour into a solid state due to the volatility of petroleum vapours of the liquid colour.
Taman spent seventeen years of his life in technical experimentation of the chemistry of colours and the potential of this technique as well as the physical and chemical characteristics, therefore allowing him to exploit and adapt it as he likes in his artworks.
He is able to combine the chemical interaction and pigmentation in Tamanism and his semi abstractionist stylistic approach to achieve fantastic pieces. His main inspiration comes from his admiration of recognizable public figures. He has featured in numerous Art exhibitions and has won notable awards for his exceptional works.
